- My History
- Denise is from Arroyo Grande, California. We have
lived on the Central Coast for 25 years and the beach never gets old. I'm
really blessed to have a fantastic husband, 2 wonderful kids and a beautiful 8
month old granddaughter. Stuart and I love to go to the beach, travel, garden
and enjoy the outdoors. We've enjoyed traveling to England, France, Italy,
Spain, Turkey and Greece - the people, architecture and culture of these
countries are unique and wonderful to explore.
Last year, I accomplished
2 bucket list items - we went to Cuba (probably one of our most exciting and
beautiful trips) and to a Garth Brooks concert at the Forum, where we went
backstage and met with him, sat next to the stage for his concert, and he then
proceeded to pay for our whole trip - he is definitely a class act.
I
retired 2 years ago after being in the medical field for almost 50 years! I was
the Director of Quality Improvement at several hospitals in the San Luis Obispo
area and for the final 12 years of my 'work life' - I was the Chief Operating
Officer for a clinic system that has 28 clinics and 5 mobile units that provide
medical and dental care in Santa Barbara and San Luis Obispo
Counties.
But, it was amazing how easily I slipped into retirement and
enjoy my time with family. I'm definitely in an interesting time of life -
taking care of our 9 month old granddaughter a couple days a week and taking
care of my parents, age 92. I moved them up here and they live on their own,
but my mother suffers from Alzeheimer's. So on one hand, some days I deal with
diapers and on the other days I deal with Depends! All in all, a very blessed
life!
- Current Interests
- I love the beach, walking trails in San Luis Obispo
County, traveling anywhere, and my wonderful family. We'll be going on a cruise
in November to the Western Carribean and Mayan ruins, and in May we're taking
the whole family to Ireland, Scotland and England, WOW!
